Transhuman Physiology: Only Thing That GW Did To Make Space Marines Be More Like Space Marines

The newest edition of 40K Kill Team – the newbie-friendly entry level format that is about controlling individual miniatures in tight special operation environments rather than grog infested main game of pushing overly large armies on far too small tables – is almost out. And the biggest thing about isn’t Games Workshop finally giving a shit about Kill Team or them asking Heralds of Ruin to change their title. No, it’s the fact that GW actually did something to make Space Marines closer to super human warriors that they are in the fluff.

Necromunda Escher Gang Is Ready To Rumble!

You already know that I have a Goliath gang for the new Necromunda Underhive game. I didn’t stop there, though: I bought the entire Necromunda starter box with no intentions of splitting. So naturally, I had to build and paint an Escher gang, too. Here are the Blacklights.

My Necromunda Goliath Gang In The Flesh!

Necromunda Underhive is a fun game! But even before I had the chance to try it, I had spent some time reading the books from the old game. That happened years before any new game was on the horizon. So when the new edition came out, I bought the starter immediately. I got to painting both gangs. And I finally bothered to take pictures of my entire Necromunda Goliath gang!

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus Announcement

Games Workshop has just announced Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus, which seems to be an Adeptus Mechanicus focused XCOM-like game. Bulwark Studios isn’t a total nobody – they have made a game and a DLC, according to Steam, and both of them are on the “mostly positive” side of things. All in all, I’d like to see more gameplay to make a solid opinion about it.

Magos Dominus Reditus still seems like a very cheeky name, though.

Easterlings Ready For Battle Companies

The Battle Company of Easterlings in all its glory
The Takavaran are ready! For the glory of the Temple of Ant-Hill Lion!

Games Workshop is mostly known for Warhammer 40.000 and I’m well known for whining about it. However, GW also produces a Lord of the Rings miniature wargame. It had been languishing for the longest time, beset by questionable business practices and Tom Kirby’s disdain. The new management is a little more pro-active about maintaining the property. Forgeworld is releasing miniatures from the Hobbit movie in expensive resin. Warhammer Community publishes articles around it.

More pertinently for me, Battle Companies – the individual-miniature skirmish game – has been released. It’s called Middle-earth Battle Companies, but good luck finding anyone outside GW call it that. Continue reading “Easterlings Ready For Battle Companies”

YakTribe’s Necromunda Materials Are Boss

I’ve been a busy grog

YakTribe is probably the greatest website for people interested in Specialist Games: Necromunda (both old and new), Mordheim and Gorkamorka. Before the release of Necromunda: Underhive, the website held all the PDFs you could ever want about the old game. Heck, it even supported  Inquisimunda (boo, hiss).

But now, YakTribe has released the tools for maintaining your gang roster and managing the campaign in Necromunda: Underhive/Gang Wars. The tools are amazing, beautifully done and easy to use. You can even add photos of your gangers to your profiles and you have multiple options for printable gang cards! It’s great!

Just go here.
