Close Combat: The Bloody First review | A Close Shave

Will we ever stop gaming World War II? Highly unlikely, since only World War III would eclipse it in scope and interest – and it’s generally assumed that we wouldn’t survive it. Thus it still remains at the forefront of gameable conflicts. And that is why we can get the first brand-spanking-new Close Combat title in decades – Close Combat: The Bloody First.

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones Review | Opium!

H. P. Lovecraft was a big old racist, but at least his rampant fear of Spaniards was channeled into Cthulhu Mythos, later lovingly gameified by the Call of Cthulhu RPG. However, few games – video or otherwise – plunge you straight into the world of eldritch gods like Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones does.

Ancestors Legacy – Saladin’s Conquest DLC review | Deus Won’t

Despite its short length, this review took a lot of time to reach the blog. The DLC isn’t that big! Ancestors Legacy started out as a game set in the early Middle Ages when Vikings roamed the earth. Do you know what else happened in the early Medieval era? The Crusades, baby! And the Saladin’s Conquest DLC allows you to fight them as the people it’s named after.

Field of Glory: Empires Review | Field of Dead Etruscans

Rome is one of those historical periods that will always attract grogs – and, in turn, grog game designers. That’s why we have a new AGEOD title with Field of Glory: Empires.

Insurgency: Sandstorm vs. World War 3 | Steam Free Weekend Experience

I’m very bad at FPS games, but that doesn’t stop me from liking them! That’s why I was overjoyed somewhat excited to learn that Insurgency: Sandstorm and World War 3 were free to try on Steam on last weekend. So how did it go for me? Trials of Fire Preview | The Elves Did It!

Sci-fi is no stranger to post-apocalyptic settings. However, they are lot rarer in fantasy. I mean, what magical thing can cause an end of the world that leaves anything behind? What would its aftermath look like? For Trials of Fire, the Cataclysm left a wasteland like a nuclear war would have… only the elves are to blame.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus Review | In the Future, There Will Be Robots

When Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus was first announced, I had zero faith in it. Sure, having a game where you control the Techpriests of Mars is cool. However, facing off against a single enemy race – Necrons, of all things – seemed to be boring. Glad I was very, very wrong about that!

Titans March In Horus Heresy: Legions

As a person who steadfastly refuses to engage with social media, I was surprised by the new event on Horus Heresy: Legions. Usually, it’s just regular card games (not on motorcycles). But in Cataclysm, we get to play with Titans in a way we haven’t played before.

Unless you’re into Adeptus Titanicus, that is!

Night Lords Are The Terror Legion In Horus Heresy: Legions

We have just spent two weeks of dunking on Alpha Legion in the event. Now, we have finally welcome Night Lords into Horus Heresy: Legions . Yes, the crazy Batman Marines are in, and they’re bringing Terror with them.
