Glitchpunk demo | Review in 7 Screenshots

Steam Festival brought us a bunch of demos – even for some good games! Now, the strategy offerings were paltry indeed, but Glitchpunk fulfilled a more rarified need- that of explicitly cyberpunk GTA 2 with mouse aim.

Field of Glory II: Medieval review | Mentioned in the Annals of Quedlinburg

The nice thing about tabletop miniature wargames getting the video game treatment is that the computer has to learn the rules, not you. Also? No need to paint miniatures! Those are just a couple of reasons why it’s cool to have Field of Glory II: Medieval at our fingertips.

Combat Mission: Black Sea Steam review | Giving thermals to the blind

When Battlefront.com first announced Combat Mission: Black Sea, they were probably inspired by the Russo-Georgian war. “Which neighbor could Russia potentially invade next?” they must have asked themselves. They settled on Ukraine as the likely target. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but when the game was released in November 2014, the war in Donbass had been going for 3 months already. The situation hasn’t righted itself since, and the conflict was still ongoing Combat Mission: Black Sea was released on Steam on January 21st, 2021.

Battle Brothers review | Playing only the newest titles on this blog

Due to some unforeseen and very unpleasant circumstances, I was in the position where playing 29 hours of Battle Brothers in 2-3 weeks felt like the rational choice. However, I myself am unhappy to just leave it like that, so I’m going to review the game – in 2021.

Project Wingman review | Soaring on the wings of animu

How often do I get to review plane games? Well, seeing how I don’t own a joystick or a license to fly a MiG-15, I have never gone after the likes of DCS. But something like Project Wingman is more my speed.

Sometimes, you don’t have the time to write a review. You might not even have the time to play the game for long. But you always have time for opinions – opinions about indie games!

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Craftworld Aeldari review | War of Elfcraft

Back when I first got into Warhammer 40,000, there were no Craftworld Aedari – just Eldar. But those were the days before desperate copyrighting. It was also a time before Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War‘s latest DLC, Craftworld Aeldari.

Möbius Front ’83 review | War is puzzling

Zachtronics makes open-ended puzzle games that may involve programming, visual or otherwise. That’s the reason why I never played any of them – I just can’t see myself writing any code for fun.  I also couldn’t see myself playing an Advance Wars-like game. Yet these mad lads somehow made me do it with Möbius Front ’83.

Fantasy General II: Empire in Flames DLC | Rome is burning!

Back when I was a kid, new campaigns for games came with these things called “expansion packs.” Granted, that concept has been absorbed by DLCs, which encompass any and all additional content that’s delivered outside of patches. And as a kid, I missed out on the original Fantasy General. I made up for that by playing Fantasy General II. Empire in Flames DLC is a great addition to the main game.
