Centurion Abraxus Isidor, Loyalist Death Guard

When the XIV Legion mockingly left the Youngblood behind to “prove his tactics right” by pacifying the toxic world of Kuzmin’s Pendulum, Abraxus was just a Breacher sergeant. After years of spearheading attacks on insurgent strongpoints and fortresses, his heterodox praetor was promoted him to centurion. One of his first triumphs as a full officer would be the boarding of the cruiser leading the small traitor detachment came to retrieve the Death Guard forces from Pendulum short after Drop Site Massacre.

This is the 2025 Skullapalooza event mini, painted for internet points and not much else. It came as an STL with standard, loyalist and traitor varieties of heads, bodies, backpacks, etc. Being the brain-worm heavy snowflake that I am, I went with standard everything.

It is my most advanced, weathered, and bedecalled model thus far. I had not planned to put so much work on the thunder hammer, but since doing it the sloppy way didn’t work, I found myself forced to use more advanced techniques.

Oh, the irony! My Death Guard scheme/formula is predicated solely on how easy it is to paint. So going all in on the weathering on the last day was trip. Still, with a buddy advising me along the way (and providing the pigments), the end result came out OK.

I guess I’ll have to take Abraxus to my once-yearly 30K (Zone Mortalis) game. He may not have a consult role that would fit him as he is and he’s notably lacking a side-arm and any grenades, but – details, details.
